POEM
Notions/thoughts -

Oft times we linger
In that space
Between
Neither here, nor there
Nor anywhere really
Sitting quietly, meditating
Not striving, just arriving
Being here and now
With presence of
An awareness
Of a life-giving breath
Of spirit
Being

In a physical world
There is a strong sense
Of the sublime
In the inner quiet
In the calmness
Of spatial
The ethereal

- Qualities of floating
Delicate

Light

Spaciousness

Consciousness/light
Traces
Physical contour markings
Over implied grid coordinates
Passages
Meeting points
Connections
Relationships
Inferred
In time/distance
Traveled
Touched

Spaces between
Stillness,
Knowing-ness
Presence
In spaces between.

This professional curated group exhibition, 12 months in the making, was a grand showcase of 19 artists work from the Innisfail, Mission Beach and Tully region.

The work includes 'embossed' textured rice paper I printed and was collaged in several areas (mainly bottom and right hand side areas) on the centre panel.

Preview Publication
A preview article was published in the Arts Nexus magazine about Remnants of Presence

Publication 2003 RoP_p12.Arts Nexus.No.50
Non-digital documentation records of photos and a video do exist of this very successful exhibition but most of these have yet to see their conversion into relevant digital media production forms.
Here is a 'small' image I have to hand on file, taken on the opening day.  The work in the foreground is titled 'Treasure Trove', an sculptural installation completed by yours truly with a collaboration involvement from all participating RoP artists, with each supplying representative 'personal' object pieces.

 Thanks for visiting.

Art Monthly - Review on 'Tablelands, Perimeters and Parameters' Exhibition

I have posted a blog on Artist Books 3 (Ning community site) about the review in Art Monthly (April 2010 issue) for the Kuranda Arts Cooperative Ltd group exhibition 'Tablelands, Perimeters and Parameters' because, besides my work content for this exhibition being 'artist books', I am able to upload a PDF file there and then make a direct link to the review file here.
One of my works Euca (detail section) has been photo featured in the article.
