"Dappled Delight" by Kerryn Madsen-Pietsch | Redbubble

A different angle, some glorious wintery mid-afternoon spots of dappled sunlight on this delicate hanging annual Zygocactus flower, combined with using an old faithful manual 50mm Pentax Prime lens created some lovely varying compositional effects I’m really happy with.

The subject matter, a flowering pastel pink-white zygocactus, is such a beautiful delicate example of one of nature's amazing aero-dynamic designs.

In contrast to the previous post image of 'Ethereal Beauty' with direct sunlight spots, 'Flutterer' is a softer, more subtle, lower key tonal image due to the different light source - reflected light from a heavy overcast grey sky.

With less breezes this time round, it made for easier 'manual' focusing and shooting of a non-wavering delicate suspended flower from a hanging basket.

As I like to get the most sensitive detailed shot using the lowest Aperture Priority camera setting at 100, it also means the time shoot lapse will be slower in lower light conditions.

Taken again using the old resurrected Prime 55mm Pentax lens.

Early morning ~ white petal water lily, a night bloomer that grows on a long stem. 2nd and last day showing.  Grown in a small fish pond in the backyard of our home, near Innisfail, Tropical Far North Queensland, Australia.

* Extra note
From my nature observations to date since photographing this bloom last April, these water lily plants must flower only once a year.
